Point Washington State Forest has 15,000 acres and more than 27 miles of distinct trails that wind through longleaf pine flatwoods, coastal scrub, wet prairie, and swamplands.

Point Washington State Forest is available for off-road biking and hiking. There is the Eastern Lake Trail System that has 3 loop trails: 3.5-, 5-, or 10-mile loop. 

This forest houses several threatened, endangered or species of special concern. Animals include the American kestrel, gopher tortoise, and flatwoods salamander. Plants include the white-topped pitcher plant and the world's largest population of Curtiss sandgrass.
